2021 was a big year for Pinty, and now the Peckham-based rapped has returned with an impressive new single in the form of ‘P-I-N-T-Y’. It is the wordsmith who takes centre stage, with his effortless flow feeling natural throughout. However, it is collaboration with Afriqua that takes the track to a new level thanks to bassy, house-inspired beats that wander into jazz-funk territory thanks to flourishes from a well-chosen synth. “We took visual cues from Sensual Seduction and Park Life, but adding some bombastic typography and animation into the mix to further bring Pinty’s oh-so-playful personality to the forefront,” says Owain E Morgan on the accompanying music video he directed. -Dan Peeke
